Banana Video - Cassette

$10.00

Norman Toronto was formed in 2010 in Chicago, IL. The original release of their first record "Rock and Roll Tide" in 2010 started the band's journey as a sonically shifting and genre blending experience, initially taking inspiration from Grinderman, Neva Dinova and Starflyer 59. The band's second release in 2013, "A Physical Act of Peace" shifted again into a thicker, heavier, and decidedly tougher style, drawing cues from Hot Water Music, Fucked Up, and Modern Life Is War. These influences continued with single releases in 2014 with "Well, That's Chicago" and 2015 with "Another Way" and "G.S.C." Playing for crowds in Chicago's Subterranean, Beat Kitchen and Double Door, the band was hailed by many as providing something lacking from Chicago's rock and roll scene: palpable energy.

After an extended hiatus, the group has reformed with all original members as more experienced musicians, but the same energy from when the group began over ten years ago. Six years since their last release, Banana Video brings the band back to their original, introspective and subdued influences, but still draws on their heavier and darker side as well. The five song record is now available via Triple Hammer Records on all streaming services and limited edition cassette.
